Inaugural Resort under Curio Collection by Hilton to Launch in Vietnam

197‑key La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton, due to open in 2023

SINGAPORE - Hilton (NYSE: HLT), one of the world’s fastest-growing hospitality companies, has signed a management agreement with one of Vietnam’s leading hospitality and real estate development companies, Sun Group, to launch a new resort under Curio Collection by Hilton in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. Curio Collection, a portfolio of over 100 handpicked hotels and resorts around the world, provides a one-of-a-kind stay experience with distinctly unique amenities and services, while backed by the Hilton name.

Set to open in Phu Quoc in 2023, the 197-key La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton will represent Hilton’s first resort in the country, joining three other Hilton-managed hotels in Vietnam including Hilton Hanoi Opera, Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi and Hilton Da Nang.

Guy Phillips, senior vice president, development, Asia and Australasia, Hilton, said, “As the largest island in Vietnam renowned for its pristine beaches, Phu Quoc is part of the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and is an emerging tourist destination in Vietnam. With flight capacity to the island growing at almost 20 percent over the five years prior to the outbreak of the pandemic, we are optimistic it will remain one of the most sought-after resort destinations in the region for travellers when borders reopen.”

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to establish our presence in Phu Quoc with a stunning new resort together with our partners Sun Phu Quoc Limited Liability Company. With its ideal beachfront location in South Phu Quoc, we are confident La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton will be a welcome addition to the locale for both domestic and international visitors when it opens in two years,” added Phillips

Located 20 kilometers from the Phu Quoc International Airport, the resort will sit within the Sun Premier Village Primavera, a local tourist attraction that reflects elements of the iconic Amalfi town of Italy. Facing the island’s popular Kiss Bridge and within close proximity to the Gondola Cable Car station, the resort will feature bold Mediterranean-inspired architecture and join an array of restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities in the vicinity. Guests at the resort will have incomparable views of the sunset and ocean and enjoy direct access to the beach.

The uniquely-designed La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton will feature architecture and design reflective of its immediate surroundings. Guests who prefer to dine in the resort will have access to a wide selection of cuisine from an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a lobby lounge and a bar. Travellers opting to stay in can enjoy the resort’s pool, fitness centre and spa, while young guests can spend their time in the kids’ club.

Alexandra Jaritz, senior vice president, brand management, Asia Pacific, said, “Each hotel under our Curio Collection by Hilton portfolio provides both leisure and business travelers with authentic experiences in primary city and resort destinations across the world. These come to life through the hotel’s unique story which is woven throughout its architectural and design details, service culture, food and beverage offerings and other curated experiences. With a distinctive design and identity, La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton will stand out against the backdrop of accommodation in Phu Quoc, appealing to inquisitive travelers seeking to explore the world.”

Nguyen Vu Quynh Anh, CEO, Sun Hospitality Group, said, “Together with Hilton, one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, Sun Hospitality Group will be bringing yet another five-star resort masterpiece to Phu Quoc, a leading tourist destination in Vietnam. By doing so we will be elevating the international hotel service standards in Vietnam, helping to improve service quality and customer experience. This resort is a fantastic stepping stone to helping our local Vietnamese talent gain precious experience in an international and world-class setting, and we are thrilled to be embarking on this partnership with Hilton who is known around the world for delivering strong performance across their award-winning brands. Our experience in the market, combined with the strength of Hilton’s brand, loyalty programme and commercial engine, will place La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton in a great position to draw guests looking for truly authentic local experiences when it opens.”
