SHANGHAI – Hilton (NYSE: HLT), the fastest-growing hospitality company in Asia Pacific, announced today that it has been recognized as one of the “Best Workplaces for Women in Greater China™” by global research and consulting firm Great Place To Work® for the fourth consecutive year. The recognition marks another incredible milestone in Hilton’s company culture, building on its legacy as a “Best Workplace in Greater China™” for eight consecutive years, and ranking number one for the past three years.
“These incredible wins validate Hilton’s achievements in building a robust workplace culture and supporting women team members to thrive. They also reflect Hilton's founding purpose to deliver the light and warmth of hospitality to our guests, communities and one another,” said Qian Jin, president, Greater China & Mongolia, Hilton. “Fostering an equitable workplace culture is key to delivering our promise, and we will continue to create the best and most inclusive home away from home for all our team members.”
Christine Wang, vice president, human resources, Greater China & Mongolia, Hilton, said, "Our culture of diversity and inclusion, wellness and growth serves as our guiding principles that drive our actions towards providing our women team members with career growth and development opportunities. This accolade is an affirmation of Hilton’s strong support ecosystem that enables our women team members to thrive, regardless of their background, role, or ambition.”
By 2025, Hilton aims to achieve at least 30% women general managers and 40% women team members in management roles at the hotel level. Currently, women team members already account for more than 55% of the total participants in career development and leadership programs in China. Hilton also launched a Women’s Team Member Resource Group in China last year to promote allyship, inspire growth, demonstrate career possibilities, create a support network and to highlight the unique perspective of women team members.
Beyond its focus on gender diversity, Hilton also supports differently-abled communities by increasing job opportunities and creating an accessible work environment in China. The company has also made the grooming and retention of local talent an integral part of its talent strategy. In China, nearly 90% of its general managers are local, and 70% are promoted from within, while more than half have had over five years of experience at Hilton.
