Hilton Strengthens South India Portfolio with the Signing of Hilton Chennai Egmore

CHENNAI – Hilton (NYSE: HLT) announced the signing of Hilton Chennai Egmore, further strengthening its presence in Tamil Nadu and advancing its growth strategy in South India. Developed in partnership with MKR Estate Developers Private Limited, part of the MGM Healthcare Group, the hotel is expected to open in January 2029. This will expand the presence of Hilton's flagship brand, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, in the city, joining Hilton Chennai.

Located in Egmore, Chennai's bustling cultural and commercial hub, the hotel will be part of a larger mixed-use development that also includes a commercial office complex, ensuring a steady base of business and event demand. With Chennai ranked among India's most productive metro areas, the city continues to thrive as a hub for automotive manufacturing, IT services, healthcare, and finance, while also attracting a growing leisure market drawn to its rich cultural heritage and vibrant city life.

Hilton Chennai Egmore will offer 195 spacious guest rooms and suites, with standard rooms averaging 390 square feet, providing ample space for both work and relaxation. Designed to blend Hilton's world-class hospitality with thoughtful detail, the hotel will offer a spectrum of experiences: from diverse dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, specialty venues, a lobby bar and a rooftop lounge, to comprehensive wellness and recreation facilities such as a spa, fitness centre, and both indoor and outdoor pools. Distinctive touchpoints, including a bowling alley and dedicated children's play area, further position the property as a destination for families as well as business travelers. With nearly 17,000 square feet of event space, including two expansive ballrooms, a meeting room and a boardroom, Hilton Chennai Egmore will serve as a premium venue for corporate gatherings, conferences, and social celebrations in the city centre.
