Bill Duncan

Bill Duncan serves as senior vice president and category leader of Hilton’s All Suites and Focused Service brands, overseeing all-suites brands Embassy Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton and Project H3 by Hilton, in addition to Hilton’s focused service brands Hampton by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Tru by Hilton and Spark by Hilton.

In his role, Duncan, a 32-year veteran of Hilton, leads the integration of core management functions, and development of long-term shared operational, performance and growth strategies for the All-Suites and Focused Service Category. Together, the All-Suites and Focused Service Category represents the largest division of Hilton with a combined total of more than 4,650 open hotels and a global pipeline of more than 1,800 properties.

Prior to his current position, Duncan served as global head of All Suites brands and global head of Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites, the extended-stay hotel portfolio for Hilton. During his tenure, Duncan established Homewood Suites as the leader in the upscale extended-stay segment, growing it into a global brand with a footprint of more than 500 hotels, and upholding the brand’s award-winning customer satisfaction culture – including leading the brand to six consecutive “Top Extended Stay Hotel” honors from J.D. Power & Associates. He is also responsible for the creation and introduction of Home2 Suites, which has been one of the fastest growing brands in Hilton and the industry’s history. Home2 Suites celebrated the 500th hotel opening in 2021, just ten years after the brand’s debut.

Deeply engaged in both professional and civic organizations, Duncan has been recognized for several industry and community awards throughout his distinguished 35+ year career, including the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association’s “Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing,” Volunteer Memphis Corporate Executive Leadership Award, and Books for Kids Outstanding Literacy Leadership Award.

A champion of social justice and literacy, Duncan has been involved in a variety of charities, and has served on numerous boards, including the National Coalition for the Homeless, Catholic Charities, and Clean the World.  While serving with Catholic Charities, he studied at the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business and earned his Executive Service Leadership/Mission to Serve Certification.

A graduate of Texas A&M University’s Mays School of Business with a degree in Marketing & Management, Duncan and his wife, Julie, have been married for 35 years, and live in McLean, Virginia.  They have one son, Christian, who is studying Graphic Design at the University of Alabama.
