Meet Ryan Preston, General Manager at Hampton Inn & Suites Riverton in Wyoming.
Ryan’s commitment to his team and willingness to jump into any role extends well beyond the walls of the hotel.
Ryan has worked hard to establish a culture of family among Team Members and Guests, and does his best to lead by example. When one Team Member’s roof was caving in, Ryan came over and worked well into the evening to help repair and clean the area. When a Team Member discovered that their washer and dryer needed repair, Ryan was there to help fix the issues and save them the cost of having to replace appliances. He has replaced an alternator in a Team Member’s car to ensure safe travels and also offered to pick up and drop off a Team Member who was saving money for a car and didn’t have transportation. When an employee had to move three hours away, Ryan volunteered to help him move and drive the moving truck.
There are several more stories about Ryan’s hospitality – including his commitment to Guests and the Community. Each time Guests are in town for a funeral, he personally buys cards and flowers and delivers them to their rooms. A construction crew lived at the hotel for two years and upon completing their project, one worker wanted to relocate to the area permanently for a new life start. Ryan set up a payment plan for him to stay at the hotel and to give him a chance to get on his feet. He even helped him find a job.
When Ryan noticed the neighborhood was lacking a sense of “Community” he stepped up and worked with the local city council to spearhead a “Live@5” event with music, food and entertainment.
