All paws down, Hilton loves pets, as evident in the more than 4,600 hotels in the U.S. and Canada alone that are pet friendly. Canopy by Hilton, Embassy Suites by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton by Hilton, Tru by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton all welcome pets in the U.S. and Canada, with other brands offering features inviting to four-legged guests, including Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Conrad Hotels and Resorts, Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts and Curio Collection by Hilton.
And that’s a good thing for the 90% of pet owners in a recent Hilton survey are influenced by their pets when deciding where to stay. The survey also revealed 72% of dog owners feel that traveling with their pets makes their trip more joyful. In fact, 68% will likely stay in a hotel the next time they travel with their pet. Because it matters where you stay when traveling with pets, guests in the U.S. and Canada may find petcare support services while on the road through Mars Petcare at seven brands, pet-friendly menus and pampered-pooch amenities offered worldwide across Hilton and, sometimes, even pawsatively adorable resident pets serving as pet concierges and directors of V.I.P.s (Very Important Pets)!
When hitting the road together, introduce your little furball to a new fur-ever friend – these resident pets may be the doggone cutest members of Hilton’s team! Meet just a few of the lucky dogs of Hilton ready to greet you with a wet kiss.
Meet the dogs
Blazer and Duncan, Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale
Before becoming the original dog ambassador at Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, near the historic Streetsville neighborhood, husky/shepherd mix Blazer was a rescue pup returned not once, not twice, but three times to the local shelter due to his gentle but exuberant nature when Hilton’s compassionate bellman Christian Bartlett stepped in. Under Christian’s care, Blazer underwent an extraordinary transformation and quickly became the star attraction at the hotel. Greeting each guest with an endearing wag of his tail, Blazer ensures every guest feels a sense of belonging the moment they set foot in the hotel. Recently, Blazer and Hilton welcomed Duncan, a yellow lab husky mix who had endured abuse in his home before crossing paths with Christian, who brought him into the Hilton family. Duncan also shows his enthusiasm for new guests and readily rolls over for tummy scratches. Together, Blazer and Duncan are an inseparable duo of dogs embodying the spirit of the pet-friendly hotel, radiating warmth and hospitality to all who cross their path in the lobby, on the patio, in the outdoor gardens, near the heated outdoor swimming pool and at the entrance of the onsite Quest Restaurant.
Dasher, Hilton Cambridge City Centre
Hilton Cambridge City Centre’s general manager, Richard Finn, rescued the adorable Dalmatian/corgi mix, Dasher, from a local shelter and began to bring him to work, quickly making Dasher a fixture at the hotel. Visiting the hotel weekly, Dasher attends hotel meetings, respects kitchen doors and knows not to enter, knows his way to the canteen, and plays with children and guests as they arrive. Dasher takes his pet mascot duties seriously and models for many of the hotel’s photoshoots to promote pet-friendly amenities. In fact, he recently tried out the new doggie toy and watering station in the hotel’s Lounge Bar and its new Bone Appetite Menu. (He loves that dishes designed for four-legged guests can be delivered via room service!)
Chester and Rupert, Hilton Puckrup Hall, Tewkesbury
Located near Malvern Hills and Commons, where pets and their owners can explore wildflower-filled meadows and hills, Hilton Puckrup Hall, Tewkesbury is home to two pups who help their mum and dad keep the property beautiful. Rupert, a 4-year-old Jack Russell, can be found at the maintenance office door, greeting anyone who walks by. At the same time, Chester, a cocker spaniel puppy, helps inspect all the 150 acres of the hotel’s golf course and grounds with the Greens Team – and sometimes goes for a swim in the lakes in search of lost golf balls! Guest pups are welcome to explore the property, especially the dog garden, and receive a bag of treats at check-in and can enjoy a dog-friendly dinner menu curated just for them.
Millie and Sadie, Hilton Milwaukee City Center
Millie and Sadie, mini goldendoodles, blend right into their golden Art Deco surroundings at the beautiful Art Deco Hilton Milwaukee City Center, a modern property awash with glitzy features dating back to its 1927 origins. Millie, who is named after the city of Milwaukee (her name consists of the first and last letters), joined the team in 2017 as Canine Concierge when her concierge owner, Rusty Dahler, brought her to work. Only a few short years later, her sister Sadie joined the team. Millie and Sadie can be found lounging on their monogrammed dog bed next to the concierge desk, taking part in city-wide parades and events, and are known to sneak rides on luggage carts when not busy wagging their tails and greeting guests. The dogs even have their own Instagram page with more than 8,000 followers!
Ollie, Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort
Don’t let Ollie’s size fool you! This little Shih Tzu/Cairn Terrier has a big heart and can barely contain his excitement when greeting guests as Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort’s director of pet services. Doggone VIPs up to 75 pounds get special pet perks when staying at the property, including water stations at the main entrance, treats and tennis balls at check-in, a gourmet menu for dogs and even a Yappy Hour at The Set, which offers some of the best oceanfront sunset views at the resort.
