Hilton Reenergizes Meeting and Event Spaces

Inspired by conversations with meeting professionals and guests, hotels across Hilton Hotels & Resorts’ global portfolio are adopting the following meeting space design concepts, integrating them in ways that cater to and showcase their unique customers and destinations.

Innovation Gallery-inspired

The first of these design concepts is inspired by the award-winning Hilton Innovation Gallery at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner

The Innovation Gallery serves as an incubator for innovative product developments. Due to its flexible design, the space also quickly became a top destination for meetings. The Innovation Gallery hosted nearly 9,000 guests, 270+ meetings and events and 225+ tours since its opening in 2017. Following the positive, organic response, Hilton is working with other hotels to bring this concept to life.

Hotels can select from a few different zone options to incorporate into their meeting space, all of which offer flexibility and encourage creativity and productivity. Some of these zones include:

  • Residential-Inspired Pantry: Offering 24/7 access to snacks and beverages throughout the entirety of the meeting.
  • Presentation Theater: Sitting within a sunken area with a large, ceiling-mounted projector, this meeting space is perfect for executive presentations, board meetings and more.
  • Collaboration Spaces: Functioning as a smaller breakout area, these spaces are ideal for smaller groups to host sessions outside of the presentation theater.

Imaginative details, functional features

According to IACC Meeting Rooms of the Future Report, creative meeting spaces are the No. 1 way venue operators can assist meeting professionals with experience creation. With that in mind, the second design concept is focused on offering imaginative details with engaging visual backdrops. These spaces signal to attendees that they are not just in a meeting, they are also part of an experience.

For example, the AGORA at Hilton London Bankside is a meeting space designed to stimulate creativity. Every aspect of the space has been chosen to create the perfect, innovative work environment. The AGORA meeting room features a wall that can also be used as a whiteboard to display notes or doodles mid-brainstorm and even has an emergency creativity button that once pressed, pushes out a jet of cool air to wake the individual up and stimulate the imagination.

Social-first spaces

According to Hilton-led research, 63% of today’s business travelers are more inspired in a busy, social environment when they are working alone or independently. To address this, Hilton encourages hotels to offer dynamic, social spaces that feature all the amenities needed by any remote worker — whether they are a guest or a local. However, there are hotels already doing this, such as Hilton San Francisco Union Square.

Located in the heart of San Francisco’s bustling Union Square, Hilton San Francisco Union Square has convenient access to the Powell/Mason and Powell/Hyde cable car lines, the George R. Moscone Convention Center, Chinatown, the Financial District, City Hall and the Civic Center. At this hotel, coworking space options include The Lobby Bar with signature hand-crafted cocktails, the hotel’s Urban Tavern with international offerings and the 46th-floor Cityscape Lounge with 360-degree panoramic views of the Bay Area and San Francisco’s most popular landmarks. The ample natural light, Wi-Fi and innovative food and beverage options make the hotel a popular coworking destination for guests and locals alike.
