Having opened nearly three hotels every day for the past year, nearly 20,000 team members have been added to Hilton’s global workforce across its managed and franchised hotels, as well as in corporate roles, since September 2024, expanding its positive impact in thousands of communities.
“On International Volunteer Day, we celebrate the nearly 1.5 million volunteer hours logged this year by our more than 500,000 team members around the world. This achievement is an incredible reminder of what’s possible when we come together, and we’re proud to be recognized for the impact we are making beyond our hotel walls.”
A Global Purpose, A Local Impact
As part of Travel with Purpose Week, Hilton and the Hilton Global Foundation, Hilton’s primary philanthropic arm, empower team members to make a positive impact beyond the walls of their hotels and spread the light and warmth of hospitality into their communities. From beach clean-ups and job-readiness trainings to waste-reduction and beautification efforts, Hilton team members and corporate offices organized activations around the world that leave them better than before. These include:
Continuing a Multi-Year Commitment to DC Central Kitchen

At Hilton’s headquarters in McLean, Virginia the hospitality leader brought together nearly 300 team members to prepare over 8,500 meals for vulnerable community members in the DC area in partnership with DC Central Kitchen. Hilton has partnered with DC Central Kitchen for over a decade, funding classes as part of its culinary job training program, equipping more than 2,300 adults and young people who have faced incarceration, homelessness, addiction and trauma, with vital technical and soft skills necessary to build rewarding careers in the hospitality industry. In addition to prepping meals in partnership with DC Central Kitchen, the Hilton Global Foundation also committed another $200,000 to create additional learning opportunities for community members as part of DC Central Kitchen’s culinary job training program.
Cleaning Shorelines in Singapore

Team members from Hilton’s Singapore office and surrounding hotels joined the Ocean Purpose Project to remove plastic waste and excess seaweed from the shoreline of Singapore’s Pasir Ris Park. Once collected, team members washed the recovered plastic waste, including straws, Styrofoam and plastic bottles which were converted into hydrogen fuel. Seaweed was collected to be repurposed as fertiliser for local herb gardens. In total, Hilton team members collected 127 kilograms of waste, including 18.7 kg of plastic, 23 kg of general waste and 86.1 kg of seaweed.
Combatting Poverty and Food Waste with the Felix Project

Team members across the United Kingdom joined forces with the Felix Project, a London-based food redistribution charity aimed at combatting food waste and addressing food insecurity. The Felix Project rescues surplus food from restaurants, supermarkets, and large-scale food wholesalers to deliver it to over 1,000 community organizations and schools across the city, ensuring that food reaches those who need it most. More than thirty team members contributed over 200 volunteer hours packing meals, unloading stock and packing deliveries bound for charities across London supporting food vulnerable community members like the homeless, children dependent on free school meals, the elderly and those living in isolation. Hilton team members packed more than 4,500 meals and cut up over one ton of sweet potatoes to support the Felix Project efforts.
