of travelers say their parents have influenced their hotel choices
Almost half (44%) of parents traveling with adult children pay for the entire trip, with only 14% of adult children paying for most or all of their trip—lowering to as little as 7% in the U.K., 8% in the UAE, and 9% in the U.S. Even in India, which has the fastest-growing major economy, only 21% of adult children pay for most or all of their trip.
While the older generation often funds the family trip, they're also often the ones who decide where the family should go. More than half (59%) agree that whoever pays gets to decide on the trip’s destination.

Generational Travel Preferences
In addition to parents funding the vacation, Zillennials are picking up on their parents’ choice of destination, booking preferences and brand loyalties. In short, parents are having a real influence on what the next generation values when it comes to travel.
Two-thirds (66%) of travelers say their parents have influenced their hotel choices, while 73% say their travel style has been shaped by their parents. Nearly 60% say their parents have influenced the loyalty programs they use.
