MOROCCO – Millennials and Gen Zs in Morocco have revealed what they want from an ideal job in a post-pandemic workplace, with a clear purpose, opportunities to travel and globally transferable skills top of mind. The findings were disclosed in a new survey commissioned by Hilton (NYSE: HLT).
Happiness in the workplace, personal and social development, and human connection also featured prominently in the research. Nearly two-thirds (62%) of young people in Morocco prioritise an organisation with strong policies on mental health and wellbeing, while extensive career development opportunities are important for over half (56%) of those surveyed. Respondents also feel that human connection is more important than ever in a post-pandemic world, with nearly half (49%) valuing social interaction in the workplace. Furthermore, 52% of young professionals in Morocco rate performance recognition as an important job aspect.
When asked to identify their dream job, the findings revealed that 39% of Millennials and Gen Zs would want a career as a Business Manager, Project Manager (34%) or Sales Manager (22%), all of which can be achieved as part of a career in hospitality. Nearly half (46%) of Millennials and Gen Zs are united in considering a career in hospitality over the past 12 months, ranking the ability to learn new skills (38%), meet new people from different backgrounds (33%), and the opportunity to travel (48%) as the most attractive features in the sector. Of those questioned, interpersonal and communication skills (52%) were considered the most important skills needed for a successful career in hospitality.

All partnerships are tailored towards youth development strategies that help young people develop new skills, start hospitality careers and realise a better future.

Methodology
OnePoll surveyed 1000 respondents in Morocco from 5th May – 12th May 2022. The survey was conducted online using panel members who are credited to participate in surveys. Respondents aged 18-41 were targeted using screening questions and profile data to ensure the correct demographic was achieved.
