PARK CITY, Utah Canopy Deer Valley has officially opened its doors, marking the brand's first hotel in Utah and welcoming guests to Deer Valley East Village. Developed by Extell Development Company, this 180-room lifestyle hotel brings Canopy Hotels—Hilton’s lifestyle hotel brand that boasts inviting design, elevated food & beverage programming and crafted guest touchpoints—to the country's premier mountain destination.

Conveniently located at the base of Deer Valley Resort, steps from the Jordanelle Express Gondola and minutes from Deer Valley East Village, Canopy Deer Valley is among the first hotels to open as part of Deer Valley Resort’s East Village expansion. The property offers immediate access to the Jordanelle Express Gondola, inviting public spaces, and four original food and beverage concepts designed to welcome both hotel guests and the local community. As part of the Hilton portfolio, the hotel also provides guests with access to the global hospitality company's extensive network and signature benefits like Hilton Honors.

Located approximately 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport, Canopy Deer Valley provides a convenient home base for exploring Park City's outdoor recreation, dining, shopping, and cultural attractions throughout the year. “The opening of Canopy Deer Valley represents an exciting new chapter not only for our hotel, but for Deer Valley East Village as it continues to welcome visitors from around the world," said Andrew Carey, general manager, Canopy Deer Valley. "We've created a place that reflects the character and energy of this highly anticipated destination, from thoughtfully designed guest rooms and locally inspired dining experiences, to meaningful partnerships with local artisans and businesses. Whether visitors are here for ski season, summer adventures, or simply to experience everything Deer Valley has to offer, we look forward to welcoming them to a hotel that truly feels rooted in its surroundings.”

Design

With interiors by DLR Group | BraytonHughes, Canopy Deer Valley offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional mountain lodge, drawing from Park City's mining history and the natural character of Deer Valley.  Industrial materials, warm wood finishes, and layered textures reference the region's history while creating comfortable, residential-style spaces. Throughout the hotel, artwork, furnishings, and design details reflect the area's outdoor heritage, offering guests a sense of place from the moment they arrive. Public spaces are designed to encourage gathering, whether over coffee in the lobby, around the fireplace, or after a day on the mountain. The building’s exterior combines locally sourced stone with thermally modified wood, creating a design that feels connected to its setting while introducing a modern architectural presence to Deer Valley.

Canopy Deer Valley - Guest Room

Canopy Deer Valley’s 180 guest rooms balance comfort, function, and modern design. Each room incorporates natural materials and custom furnishings that reflect the hotel's mountain setting while maintaining the clean, residential feel that defines the Canopy Hotels brand. Signature Canopy headboards reference performance outdoor gear, while custom rugs draw inspiration from ski tracks across fresh snow. Large windows frame views of Deer Valley Resort and the Jordanelle Reservoir, bringing natural light into each room and reinforcing the connection to the destination. Carefully considered details, including flexible storage for outdoor equipment and comfortable spaces to unwind, support guests whether they're returning from a day on the slopes or exploring Park City year-round.

Culinary Experiences

Canopy Deer Valley introduces four original dining concepts designed to welcome guests and the local community from morning through evening. The culinary program is led by Executive Chef Scott Rackliff, whose impressive resume includes stints at Chef Daniel Humm’s Eleven Madison Park and Chef Daniel Boulud’s Dinex Group, both in New York City. Inspired by Utah's mountain landscape, Rackliff's culinary philosophy for Canopy Deer Valley centers on elevated comfort food, thoughtful hospitality, and ingredients sourced from regional producers including PaMaw's Organic Farm or Wasatch Meats, and others, whenever possible.

  • Tavolona: Inspired by the tradition of gathering around the table, Tavolona is the hotel's signature Italian trattoria serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Rooted in authentic Italian hospitality, the restaurant celebrates approachable, ingredient-driven cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting designed for lingering meals and shared experiences.
  • Fornetto: Adjacent to Tavolona, Fornetto is an energetic lounge inspired by the Italian clubhouse. Featuring antipasti, cicchetti, pizza, local brews, and handcrafted cocktails, the lively gathering place captures the communal spirit of neighborhood bars where friends come together over food, drinks, and conversation.
  • Mountain Provisions: Serving locally-sourced coffee from Park City Coffee Roasters, grab-and-go fare, and thoughtfully curated provisions, Mountain Provisions reimagines the neighborhood café through the lens of an elevated mountain general store, celebrating local makers, while offering convenient, high-quality options throughout the day.
  • Alpine Attic: Crowning the hotel is Alpine Attic, a rooftop lounge destination inspired by the American West and the European Alps, with a local Utah presence from purveyors like High West Distillery and Alpine Distilling. Sweeping mountain views, elevated comfort food, and seasonal programming create a warm, immersive atmosphere that invites guests and locals alike to gather from day to night.
